Edit-List Runtime Reconciler

Calculate an entered clip timeline with adjacent overlaps, flag unknown source durations and refuse an apparently final runtime when the edit list is inconsistent.

✓ Browser-local processing
CSV row order is timeline order. Each transition is overlap with the next clip, not an added pause.

How to use Edit-List Runtime Reconciler

Check the arithmetic of a proposed edit before promising a delivery length. Ordered clip ranges and transition overlaps produce an explicit timeline, while invalid ranges keep the final duration unknown.

  1. Enter the actual source IDs and their measured durations in seconds.
  2. List clips in delivery order with in/out seconds and the overlap into each following clip; use0 on the last clip.
  3. Inspect calculated timeline starts, ends and holds, correct the real edit list, and export the reconciled runtime review.

Good to know

  • Overlaps must fit both adjacent clips; incoming and outgoing overlaps cannot consume the same middle-clip time. A held interval prevents a final duration claim.
  • No media is rendered or decoded. Frame rates, timecode formats, audio synchronization and actual editor behavior need separate review.
  • Exact displayed CSV headers; at most100 data rows and8,000 UTF-16 characters per input. Plain decimals have at most9 fractional places; display rounds half-up to12 places. Unknown evidence stays unknown. CSV exports preserve summaries, settings, every calculated detail/finding, limitations and scoped input records; spreadsheet-like text is apostrophe-prefixed.
  • Browser-local supplied-record review. No AI, network requests, provider connection, file upload, stored input or automatic delivery. Use neutral identifiers instead of personal information or secrets.

Common questions

Why is the final duration unknown?

An unknown source, invalid clip or unsupported overlap prevents a reliable final timeline. The report still shows known clip-duration subtotals.

Does a2-second transition add2 seconds?

In this explicitly entered model it overlaps adjacent clips and subtracts2 seconds once.
