How to use Text Truncator
Prepare a bounded excerpt without splitting supported emoji or combining accents. The budget measures visible grapheme clusters rather than bytes or font width.
- Enter input, grapheme budget, truncation suffix.
- Choose the settings for text truncator, then run the tool.
- Review the result and any limitations before copying or downloading it.
Good to know
- Word mode prefers a whitespace boundary; an overlong first word falls back to the grapheme boundary.
- This does not estimate a search snippet or rendered pixel width.
- Processing is local. Output is limited to 1,000,000 text characters unless a stricter file limit is stated.
Common questions
Does the suffix count toward the limit?
Yes. A 10-grapheme budget with a one-grapheme suffix leaves at most nine graphemes of original content.
Is this input sent to a server?
No. The application processes this input inside your browser tab and does not save it to persistent storage.
