How to use Text Splitter
Break a source string into clearly separated pieces. JSON output preserves empty pieces and embedded line breaks without making them visually ambiguous.
- Paste text and choose a split rule.
- Set a literal delimiter or grapheme chunk size as needed.
- Run and copy or download the JSON array of pieces.
Good to know
- Literal delimiters are case-sensitive and are not regular expressions. Backslash-n is ordinary text unless you paste an actual newline.
- Whitespace mode collapses whitespace runs and omits leading/trailing whitespace. Empty input produces an empty array.
- Chunk size counts graphemes, keeping supported emoji sequences together.
Common questions
Why is the result a JSON array?
JSON distinguishes empty pieces, quotes, and embedded newlines so the split is unambiguous.
Can I split a CSV file with quoted commas?
This is a literal text splitter, not a CSV parser. Quoted delimiters are not treated specially.
