How to use Morse Code Converter
Convert text to readable Morse notation or translate Morse back to uppercase text. Letters are separated by spaces and words by a slash.
- Choose text-to-Morse or Morse-to-text.
- For decoding, separate letters with spaces and words with /.
- Run the conversion; unsupported characters produce an error instead of being omitted.
Good to know
- Supports A–Z, 0–9, and punctuation . , ? apostrophe ! / ( ) & : ; = + - _ double quote $ @. Accented letters and emoji are rejected.
- Encoding ignores letter case and normalizes whitespace between words. Decoding outputs uppercase and supports notation only, not audio.
Common questions
How do I encode a slash character?
The slash punctuation becomes -..-. A bare / in Morse input is the separator between words.
Why are accented letters rejected?
This tool uses a defined English-letter table and does not silently transliterate unsupported characters. Convert them deliberately before encoding.
