How to use JSON Path Query
Extract specific data using paths such as $.users[*].name or $["unusual key"]. Only property access and array selection are supported; no expression or JavaScript evaluation occurs.
- Paste JSON and a path beginning with $.
- Select Run tool to extract matching values into an array.
- Review the result, then copy it or download the generated file.
Good to know
- Up to 100,000 input characters, 10,000 values, and 40 nesting levels. Standard JSON numbers use JavaScript precision; duplicate keys retain their last value.
- Supports .key, ["key"], [0], and array [*] only; no filters, recursive descent, scripts, slices, or full JSONPath standard compliance. Paths are limited to 500 characters.
Common questions
What happens if a property is missing?
That branch produces no match. A completely missing path returns an empty array.
