How to use JSON Flattener

Turn nested data into a path-to-value object for inspection and mapping. Empty arrays and objects are preserved as leaves, and slashes or tildes in property names use JSON Pointer escaping.

  1. Paste the nested JSON structure.
  2. Select Run tool to map each leaf to its JSON Pointer path.
  3. Review the result, then copy it or download the generated file.

Good to know

  • Up to 100,000 input characters, 10,000 values, and 40 nesting levels. Standard JSON numbers use JavaScript precision; duplicate keys retain their last value.
  • Output is a path map, not a spreadsheet or an unflattening format. The empty string identifies a primitive or empty root.

Common questions

Why does a property slash become ~1?

JSON Pointer uses ~1 for / and ~0 for ~ so path separators remain unambiguous.
