How to use JSON Parent and Child Array Unnester

Expand structured child objects rather than splitting a serialized multivalue cell. You choose the exact parent and child fields; the result repeats parent evidence deliberately, and empty arrays follow an explicit retain/drop/refuse policy.

  1. Enter input, root child-array property, parent field names json, child field names json.
  2. Choose the settings for json parent and child array unnester, then run the tool.
  3. Review the result and any limitations before copying or downloading it.

Good to know

  • 100,000 JSON characters,1000 parent records,100 children per parent,20 selected fields per level and 5000 output records. Cell allocation is preflighted at 350,000 characters.
  • Exactly one root child-array property and object children. Selected fields must exist. Strings remain text; other JSON values serialize as JSON. A retained empty parent has blank child provenance/cells and is not an observed child.
  • Processing is local. Output is limited to 1,000,000 text characters unless a stricter file limit is stated.

Common questions

Will two nested arrays create an implicit Cartesian product?

No. The supported profile expands one explicitly named child array only. It never multiplies unrelated arrays silently.

Is this input sent to a server?

No. The application processes this input inside your browser tab and does not save it to persistent storage.
