How to use Relational CSV to Nested Records

Prepare a small one-to-many record payload from repeated flat source rows. Declared keys and fields make the relationship explicit, while conflicts, empty child policy and original encounter order remain reviewable.

  1. Enter input, parent fields json, parent key fields json, child fields json, child key fields json, new child-array property.
  2. Choose the settings for relational csv to nested records, then run the tool.
  3. Review the result and any limitations before copying or downloading it.

Good to know

  • 5,000 source records, 1,000 parents, 100 selected source columns and 250,000 planned nested field-text characters before allocation.
  • Exactly two explicit record levels; keys must be selected fields. All output values remain strings. Conflicting parent fields, nonempty children with empty keys and duplicate child identities within a parent are refused.
  • Processing is local. Output is limited to 1,000,000 text characters unless a stricter file limit is stated.

Common questions

Does a missing child create an invented child object?

No. If all selected child cells are empty, your policy either skips that child or refuses the input. A parent can retain an explicit empty child array without fabricated data.

Is this input sent to a server?

No. The application processes this input inside your browser tab and does not save it to persistent storage.
