How to use Image Metadata Workbench
Inspect supported image metadata or create a metadata-reduced raster copy. EXIF/XMP/IPTC inspection uses a local parser. Reduction re-encodes visible pixels as PNG instead of copying the original metadata segments.
- Provide the input and select the documented mode or options.
- Run the tool and review its result and any limits reported below.
- Copy the text result or download a separate output file.
Good to know
- PNG, JPEG or WebP only;10MiB per image,24 megapixels and12,000 pixels per side. The browser applies supported EXIF orientation.
- Raster export does not preserve animation, original color profiles or embedded metadata. Keep your original file.
- Inspection may expose GPS and device fields in the result. Missing parser output does not prove that all metadata is absent.
- Re-encoding is not complete anonymization: visible content, browser-generated chunks and information inferred from pixels remain.
- Processing happens in this browser tab. Inputs and results are not automatically saved or uploaded.
Common questions
What does Image Metadata Workbench process?
EXIF/XMP/IPTC inspection uses a local parser. Reduction re-encodes visible pixels as PNG instead of copying the original metadata segments.
What happens to my original input?
The tool creates a separate result. Selected files and pasted data remain on this device; inspect the result before using it in another system.
