How to use Capture Interval and Time-lapse Plan
Enter a finite interval count or a capture window, plus start-to-start spacing and an authored exposure/processing burst. The report lists every interval, retains readiness and image-number witnesses, and compares exact storage and playback totals without controlling a camera.
- Use the example as the schema; replace its labels and entered model assumptions.
- Enter a finite interval count or a capture window, plus start-to-start spacing and an authored exposure/processing burst. The report lists every interval, retains readiness and image-number witnesses, and compares exact storage and playback totals without controlling a camera.
- Calculate, inspect the complete witnesses and limitations, then copy or download the JSON report.
Good to know
- At most 2,000 intervals and 1–9 sequential shots per interval. Exposure and processing fields are at most 86,400 seconds each; interval is positive through 86,400 seconds; start delay and capture window through 604,800 seconds. Bytes per shot and authored card capacity are plain integers through 1,000,000,000,000; larger derived totals stay exact integer strings.
- Playback FPS is a positive numerator/denominator ratio, numerator through 120,000 and denominator through 1,001, with resulting rate 0.001–240. Every image counts as one playback frame. This ideal authored model does not emulate hardware skips, buffering, battery, thermal limits, flash, noise reduction, HDR merging or encode a movie. Storage does not include filesystem/reserved-space overhead; add those to your own assumptions.
- Local calculation with no upload, input persistence or outside lookup. Model JSON is limited to 30,000 characters and 10,000 values. Decimal quantities are strings with up to six places; count fields use plain JSON integers. Exact fractions are capped at 8,192 bits. The complete JSON output is limited to 1,000,000 characters; approximate numbers preserve their stored values. Unsupported states fail explicitly.
Common questions
Does a five-second interval mean five seconds of rest after each exposure?
No. It means five seconds from one interval's first exposure start to the next. The exposure and processing burst must fit between those starts in this model. The report flags overlap rather than pretending a particular camera will delay, shorten or skip a shot.
Are my model inputs saved or sent to a server?
No. This model runs in the current browser tab and creates a local JSON download. It does not save your input or call an external data service.
