How to use Local Unified Patch Workbench
Inspect ordinary unified text patches or atomically apply exact hunks to a virtual JSON file map. No filesystem path is opened. Context must match exactly, including final-newline markers and any carriage return bytes retained in hunk content.
- Provide unified patch, virtual source files json.
- Choose the supported mode and run the tool. Review its assumptions and any reported errors.
- Copy the result or download a separate output; reset to clear the current form.
Good to know
- 50 files,500KB patch,10000 hunk lines,2MiB virtual sources and100000 aggregate source line breaks. Patch control lines use LF; CR in hunk content is an actual source byte.
- No fuzzy application, binary/combined patches, renames, permissions, quoted Git paths or mode-only changes. New/deleted files use /dev/null; every hunk must succeed.
- Inputs are processed on this device and are not automatically saved or uploaded.
Common questions
Will this modify my repository?
No. Only explicitly supplied virtual source strings are transformed; the result is a separate JSON file map.
Does this change my original input?
No. The tool returns a separate result. Review that output before using it in another application.
