How to use File Hash Verifier
Check binary bytes without converting them to text. An optional expected hexadecimal digest is compared exactly after case normalization.
- Enter local file, expected hexadecimal digest (optional).
- Choose the settings for file hash verifier, then run the tool.
- Review the result and any limitations before copying or downloading it.
Good to know
- 20 MiB file cap. The complete file buffer is used by Web Crypto.
- A matching digest is not malware detection, a signature check, or proof that the expected source is trustworthy.
- Processing is local. Output is limited to 1,000,000 text characters unless a stricter file limit is stated.
Common questions
Is this the same as hashing pasted text?
No. It hashes the exact original bytes, including non-text data and original line endings.
Is this input sent to a server?
No. The application processes this input inside your browser tab and does not save it to persistent storage.
