How to use Exact Grouped CSV Rank Annotator

Prepare ranked table records without rearranging their source order. Competition, dense and source-order tie policies remain explicit, and every valid row records the number of valid numeric observations in its group.

  1. Enter input, group columns json (empty for one group), numeric column, new rank column.

Common questions

Why do equal values sometimes leave a gap in the next rank?

Competition ranks are 1, 1, 3 for a two-way first-place tie. Dense ranks are 1, 1, 2. Source-order assigns 1, 2, 3 using original order for equal numeric values.

Is this input sent to a server?

No. The application processes this input inside your browser tab and does not save it to persistent storage.
