How to use Binary File Comparator
Check exact binary equality without normalizing encodings or line endings. The first 1,000 differing positions are listed while counts cover the complete supported inputs.
- Enter first file, second file.
- Choose the settings for binary file comparator, then run the tool.
- Review the result and any limitations before copying or downloading it.
Good to know
- 20 MiB per file; at most 1,000 offset records. Bytes beyond a shorter file count as differences.
- This is byte equality, not semantic document comparison, malware inspection or authentication.
- Processing is local. Output is limited to 1,000,000 text characters unless a stricter file limit is stated.
Common questions
Are Windows and Unix line endings treated as equal?
No. Their bytes differ. Use Text Diff when you intentionally want line-ending normalization.
Is this input sent to a server?
No. The application processes this input inside your browser tab and does not save it to persistent storage.
