How to use Local Duplicate File Finder
Find content duplicates within an explicit local selection. Filenames and hashes are report data only; no directory scan, deletion or persistent content storage occurs.
- Enter files to compare.
- Choose the settings for local duplicate file finder, then run the tool.
- Review the result and any limitations before copying or downloading it.
Good to know
- 100 files,20MiB per file and50MiB aggregate. Hashing uses one bounded complete file buffer at a time; byte comparison uses64KiB chunks.
- No recursive filesystem access, automatic selection, deletion, malware check or cross-session history.
- Processing is local. Output is limited to 1,000,000 text characters unless a stricter file limit is stated.
Common questions
Are files with the same name automatically duplicates?
