Wallpaper Strip and Roll Cut Planner

Plan full-height wallpaper drops, straight pattern repeats and exact per-roll cuts without area-only shortcuts.

✓ Browser-local processing
Use the complete example schema. Quantities are exact decimal strings with up to six places; do not replace them with JSON decimal numbers.

How to use Wallpaper Strip and Roll Cut Planner

Enter each wall and one roll specification in centimetres. Add your trim allowance, round straight-match drops to whole vertical repeats, then inspect an ordered roll cut list with start reserve and remaining material.

  1. Use the example as the schema; replace its labels and entered model assumptions.
  2. Enter each wall and one roll specification in centimetres. Add your trim allowance, round straight-match drops to whole vertical repeats, then inspect an ordered roll cut list with start reserve and remaining material.
  3. Calculate, inspect the complete witnesses and limitations, then copy or download the JSON report.

Good to know

  • 1–20 walls and at most 500 total full-width drops. Roll length, start reserve, repeat, trim and wall dimensions are at most 100,000 cm; roll width at most 10,000 cm. Positive lengths use exact decimal strings with up to 6 places. Each complete drop must fit in one usable roll.
  • Free match requires repeat 0; straight match requires a positive repeat and assumes all usable roll starts are already aligned to the same pattern phase after your entered reserve. The tool does not infer that reserve or read a design image.
  • Wall/source-order next-fit cuts are a declared feasible plan, not minimum rolls or a purchase guarantee. No half-drop/offset/A-B panels, splices, opening deductions, damage reserve, corners or width-offcut reuse.
  • Local calculation with no upload, input persistence or outside lookup. Model JSON is limited to 30,000 characters and 10,000 values. Decimal quantities are strings with up to six places; count fields use plain JSON integers. Exact fractions are capped at 8,192 bits. The complete JSON output is limited to 1,000,000 characters; approximate numbers preserve their stored values. Unsupported states fail explicitly.

Common questions

Why can dividing wall area by roll area be misleading?

Each wall needs a whole number of full-width, full-height drops. Pattern alignment and trim increase each cut length, while short roll leftovers may not fit another drop. The report retains those physical cuts and leftovers instead of treating every square centimetre as interchangeable.

Are my model inputs saved or sent to a server?

No. This model runs in the current browser tab and creates a local JSON download. It does not save your input or call an external data service.
