Rolled Material Usage Planner

Follow cut and trim withdrawals from a measured-length or diameter-derived ideal roll, preserving length bounds and estimated remaining outside diameter.

✓ Browser-local processing
Use the complete example schema. Quantities are exact decimal strings with up to six places; do not replace them with JSON decimal numbers.

How to use Rolled Material Usage Planner

Choose a measured initial length or outside diameter, enter the core diameter and constant material thickness in one unit, then list ordered cuts and one trim loss per row. Entered-length accounting stays exact; a diameter-derived length has explicit mathematical pi bounds and can refuse an ambiguous near-empty withdrawal.

  1. Use the example as the schema; replace its labels and entered model assumptions.
  3. Calculate, inspect the complete witnesses and limitations, then copy or download the JSON report.

Good to know

  • At most 150 withdrawals and 10,000 copies per row. Core/outside diameters and thickness are at most 1,000,000 units; thickness is positive. Measured length/cut/trim are 0–1,000,000,000 units. Geometry is an ideal tightly wound sheet; approximate diameter values are not metrology enclosures.
  • Local calculation with no upload, input persistence or outside lookup. Model JSON is limited to 30,000 characters and 10,000 values. Decimal quantities are strings with up to six places; count fields use plain JSON integers. Exact fractions are capped at 8,192 bits. The complete JSON output is limited to 1,000,000 characters; approximate numbers preserve their stored values. Unsupported states fail explicitly.

Common questions

Why can a diameter-based withdrawal be refused near the remaining length?

Measured geometry does not give an exact decimal length because the model contains pi. The tool keeps rational mathematical bounds and refuses a withdrawal when they straddle zero, instead of silently accepting an overdraft. A genuinely measured initial length uses exact decimal accounting.

Are my model inputs saved or sent to a server?

No. This model runs in the current browser tab and creates a local JSON download. It does not save your input or call an external data service.
