How to use URL Decoder
Turn UTF-8 percent escapes back into text. The input is decoded once and stays on the page, including any characters that resemble HTML or a URL.
- Paste a percent-encoded component.
- Run the decoder once.
- Copy the decoded text and inspect it before use.
Good to know
- A literal + remains +; this is not a form-urlencoded parser.
- Malformed percent escapes and invalid UTF-8 are rejected.
- Up to 200,000 characters. Decoded links are never opened automatically.
Common questions
Why is %2520 still %20 after decoding?
The value was encoded twice. This tool decodes one layer per run.
Can decoded HTML execute?
No. The output is displayed as text.
