How to use Torrent Metadata and Info-hash Inspector
Inspect bounded BEP3 v1 torrent metadata and hash the original bencoded info dictionary. Canonical integer/length and byte-sorted dictionary checks precede file-size and piece-count analysis. Binary pieces are summarized rather than treated as text.
- Provide local .torrent metainfo, optional metainfo hexadecimal.
- Choose the supported mode and run the tool. Review its assumptions and any reported errors.
- Copy the result or download a separate output; reset to clear the current form.
Good to know
- 2MiB metainfo,10000 bencode values,40levels,20 decimal digits per integer,2000 files and100 path components. File lengths must be safe nonnegative integers. v2/hybrid torrents are rejected.
- No P2P connection, tracker lookup, magnet opening, download or verification against actual payload files. Filenames use strict UTF8 and preserve an initial Unicode BOM character.
- Inputs are processed on this device and are not automatically saved or uploaded.
Common questions
Is the info hash computed from converted JSON?
No. The SHA1 input is the exact byte slice of the original info dictionary, as required by BEP3.
Does this change my original input?
No. The tool returns a separate result. Review that output before using it in another application.
