How to use Random String Generator
Create random sample labels or opaque strings locally. Choose a preset alphabet or a small custom set; duplicate alphabet characters are removed before sampling.
- Choose a preset alphabet or enter unique visible ASCII characters.
- Set the string length and number of strings.
- Generate and copy the results using your device’s secure handling practices.
Good to know
- Web Crypto is required. Sampling is unbiased per character, but strings are not guaranteed unique and no character-class inclusion rule is imposed.
- Theoretical entropy assumes a working random source and independent draws. It is not a certification of a credential scheme.
- Outputs are not saved by the application. Clipboard and downloaded files can expose values on your device.
Common questions
Does the generator use Math.random?
No. It uses Web Crypto and rejection sampling to select alphabet positions.
Are these UUIDs?
No. They follow your selected alphabet and length. Use UUID Generator for the UUID format.
