How to use PSD Composite Pixel Exporter

Export a small PSD file’s saved 8-bit opaque RGB or grayscale composite as a PNG, with original section and pixel evidence. Recover the already saved composite from a local Photoshop document without installing an editor or uploading the file. This selected reader decodes actual planar Raw or PackBits samples; it does not render layers. Review the channel, compression and color limitations before choosing a file. The PNG copies numeric sample values rather than reproducing Photoshop color management.

  1. Provide psd v1: 8-bit rgb3 or grayscale1, raw or packbits.
  2. Choose the supported mode and run the tool. Review its assumptions and any reported errors.
  3. Copy the result or download a separate output; reset to clear the current form.

Good to know

  • One PSD version 1 file from 40 bytes through 16 MiB, at most 2,000,000 pixels and 4,096 pixels per side. Only 8-bit RGB with exactly three channels or grayscale with exactly one channel is accepted. PSB, 1/16/32-bit, CMYK, indexed/Lab modes, extra alpha/spot channels and merged transparency are refused. These limits are checked before image allocation.
  • The final saved composite section must contain either exact Raw planar bytes or a complete PackBits row table. Each channel row must decode to exactly its width without crossing its stored byte range; literal, repeat and no-op commands are supported. Missing bytes, expanding runs, zero-length rows, trailing content, ZIP and predictor compression refuse the entire export. No native image decoder runs.
  • Color-mode data must be empty. Image-resource framing is bounded to 1 MiB and 256 blocks. A known Version Info flag declaring no real merged data refuses; absent Version Info is reported as unknown. The source may contain stale saved composite pixels: no comparison against layers or authoring application is performed.
  • Layer-section and layer-info lengths must fit their enclosing bytes. Negative signed layer counts indicate merged transparency and are refused. Layer records, masks, text, effects, smart objects and resource bodies are skipped as bounded opaque bytes, not executed, decoded or semantically validated. No unsaved composite is reconstructed.
  • Output is an opaque 8-bit RGB PNG. Numeric source channel values are copied exactly; grayscale samples repeat into R, G and B. The PNG contains no ICC profile, gamma, EXIF, text or source metadata. Source ICC presence is reported, but no color transform is applied. Appearance may differ from Photoshop or a color-managed viewer; this is pixel-code export, not archival or print-color preservation.
  • The original minimal PNG writer uses filter-zero rows and stored DEFLATE blocks; output can be larger than a compressed PNG and is capped at 7 MiB. Known typed-buffer lengths are bounded by input dimensions; this is not a measured browser-heap guarantee. A prepared same-origin Worker has 10 seconds to load its fixed modules and a separate 2-second computation deadline, then terminates.
  • Evidence exposes only numeric dimensions, channel/compression fields, bounded section/resource ranges, resource IDs, known flags and at most 16 original pixel probes. It does not echo source metadata bodies or filenames. The original PSD is unchanged. No script, layer, ICC profile, resource URL, source code or remote request is executed.
  • Inspect the exported PNG in your target browser and compare with the source. Saving this flattened image removes editability and all original metadata from the separate artifact; it does not edit or remove anything from your original file. Files remain in the current tab and are not stored or uploaded.
  • Structured text output is limited to 500,000 characters. Reduce the supplied source when that separate output budget is exceeded.
  • Inputs are processed on this device and are not automatically saved or uploaded.

Common questions

Does this tool render my Photoshop layers and preserve their colors or transparency?

No. It reads only the composite pixel samples already saved in the final PSD section. This narrow profile accepts opaque 8-bit RGB or grayscale data and copies its numeric values to an untagged RGB PNG. It does not calculate blend modes, masks, transparency or ICC transforms, and a missing or stale composite cannot be repaired here.

Does this change my original input?

No. The tool returns a separate result. Review that output before using it in another application.
