How to use Original Base-ten Teaching Sheets

Create original place-value reading practice from numbers you choose. The generated geometry distinguishes hundred-unit grids, ten-unit rods and single units, including a no-block zero case. Student files omit the number/decomposition key; a separately chosen teacher page or JSON provides exact counts.

  1. Enter your own number strings and choose whether place-name labels should appear.
  2. Select a student sheet, a sheet with a separate teacher page or explicit JSON key evidence.
  3. Download and inspect the generated diagram/print layout and learner accommodations before use.

Good to know

  • Use 1–12 canonical ASCII decimal strings from 0 through 999, with no leading zeros, signs, spaces or decimals. Every diagram verifies value = 100 × hundreds + 10 × tens + ones. Exercises are original generated diagrams, not copied curriculum worksheets.
  • A hundred is a 10 by 10 unit grid, a ten is a ten-unit rod and a unit is one square. Place labels can be shown or omitted. Student HTML and student result summaries omit the explicit number/decomposition key, although the diagram intentionally represents that answer.
  • The controlled HTML/SVG uses a fixed six-card A4 source layout and no uploaded markup, fonts or images. Browser and printer font/layout behavior still require actual native review; identical pagination and screen legibility on every device are not promised.
  • SVG labels identify exercises without revealing the answer in a text alternative. Teachers must provide suitable tactile, verbal or other accommodations and review instructional suitability. No accessibility, assessment-validity, curriculum-approval or learning-outcome certification is implied.
  • Processing is local. Output is limited to 1,000,000 text characters unless a stricter file limit is stated.

Common questions

Can I share the student-only file without the teacher decompositions?

Yes, the student artifact omits the explicit teacher key. The visible blocks still encode each intended number, as the exercise requires. Verify the downloaded file and provide an appropriate alternative format for learners who cannot use the diagram.

Is this input sent to a server?

No. The application processes this input inside your browser tab and does not save it to persistent storage.
