How to use Intel HEX Firmware Record Workbench
Validate Intel HEX records, normalize record layout or export a bounded address-span binary. Checks byte counts, checksums, extended segment/linear addresses, a single optional start address, overlapping ranges and the final EOF record.
- Provide optional intel hex file, intel hex records.
- Choose the supported mode and run the tool. Review its assumptions and any reported errors.
- Copy the result or download a separate output; reset to clear the current form.
Good to know
- 1MiB ASCII,10000 records,2MiB actual payload. Binary output span is capped at2MiB before allocation; gaps use the selected byte.
- Conflicting/duplicate start-address, overlapping data and cross-64KiB-offset data records are rejected; split boundary-spanning data records first. Type03 CS:IP and type05 EIP records retain their original semantics. No device, firmware integrity, signature or flash operation is performed.
- Inputs are processed on this device and are not automatically saved or uploaded.
Common questions
Does a valid checksum mean the firmware is safe?
No. Intel HEX checksums detect record corruption; they do not establish authenticity or compatibility with a target device.
Does this change my original input?
No. The tool returns a separate result. Review that output before using it in another application.
