How to use Checksum Manifest Workbench
Compare expected digests with exact selected bytes. Manifest paths are never used to discover files or access the host filesystem; missing and unused selections remain visible.
- Enter files, manifest: hexadecimal digest, two spaces, exact filename.
- Choose the settings for checksum manifest workbench, then run the tool.
- Review the result and any limitations before copying or downloading it.
Good to know
- 100 files,20MiB per file,50MiB total and1000 manifest records. Single-volume safe relative names only; duplicate selected names are refused.
- Supports the declared two-space digest format, not complete BagIt, escaped GNU filenames or signatures. No file path is resolved automatically.
- Processing is local. Output is limited to 1,000,000 text characters unless a stricter file limit is stated.
Common questions
Does a matching digest prove the download is authentic?
No. It proves agreement with the supplied digest. The manifest itself needs an independently trusted source.
Is this input sent to a server?
No. The application processes this input inside your browser tab and does not save it to persistent storage.
