How to use Original Crossword Sheet Builder

Create a printable original crossword from an explicitly authored grid instead of borrowing words or pretending a generator validated the answers. Start numbering and clue coverage are verified against that grid, and student output excludes the solution when the teacher page is omitted.

  1. Enter solved grid row strings json (uppercase a–z, # blocks), original across/down clue objects keyed by number.
  2. Choose the settings for original crossword sheet builder, then run the tool.
  3. Review the result and any limitations before copying or downloading it.

Good to know

  • 2–21 rows and columns, equal-width uppercase ASCII letters/# blocks, connected open cells and runs of at least two letters. Unsupported print controls are refused. Every open cell must belong to a run; clues must exactly cover generated across/down starts and contain at most 200 characters.
  • Supplied-grid publisher only. No word generation, clue correctness, dictionary lookup, solution uniqueness, rotational symmetry or American/cryptic/editorial standard claim. Teacher omission excludes actual solution letters from both output report and student HTML; physical printing still needs preview.
  • Processing is local. Output is limited to 1,000,000 text characters unless a stricter file limit is stated.

Common questions

Will the tool create a valid puzzle from my word list?

No. Supply the already solved grid and your own clues. The workbench checks its declared structural profile and publishes the artifact; it does not fill a grid, evaluate clue truth or prove that a solver has one unique answer.

Is this input sent to a server?

No. The application processes this input inside your browser tab and does not save it to persistent storage.
