How to use Course Assessment Drop-policy Ledger

Declare category weights totaling 100 and one equal points maximum per category. Mark graded, pending and excused assessments, protect any from dropping, then inspect the exact kept/dropped records and empty-category weighting.

  1. Use the example as the schema; replace its labels and entered model assumptions.
  2. Declare category weights totaling 100 and one equal points maximum per category. Mark graded, pending and excused assessments, protect any from dropping, then inspect the exact kept/dropped records and empty-category weighting.
  3. Calculate, inspect the complete witnesses and limitations, then copy or download the JSON report.

Good to know

  • 1–10 categories, at most 100 assessments in one category and 200 together. Each category weight is 0–100, with the total exactly 100. Positive equal pointsEach and graded scores are at most 1,000,000, in exact strings with six places; scores cannot exceed pointsEach.
  • Pending and excused records require null scores. Pending is ignored or zero-filled explicitly; excused never counts. Drop 0–99 lowest unprotected eligible scores with source-order ties; the current collection must have enough candidates and retain at least one score. Empty categories allow drop count zero only.
  • Empty-category weight is retained as zero or explicitly renormalized away. With no positive active weight, renormalized overall is null. No unequal-point drop optimization, extra credit, letter-grade scale, late policy, target-score solve, LMS emulation, institutional or passing/admission conclusion.
  • Local calculation with no upload, input persistence or outside lookup. Model JSON is limited to 30,000 characters and 10,000 values. Decimal quantities are strings with up to six places; count fields use plain JSON integers. Exact fractions are capped at 8,192 bits. The complete JSON output is limited to 1,000,000 characters; approximate numbers preserve their stored values. Unsupported states fail explicitly.

Common questions

Does this reproduce Canvas dropping when assignments have different maximum points?

No. Equal possible points within each category are required here. That makes lowest-score ordering explicit and checkable. Systems that optimize the effect of dropping unequal-point assignments can choose a different record; this report does not claim general LMS compatibility.

Are my model inputs saved or sent to a server?

No. This model runs in the current browser tab and creates a local JSON download. It does not save your input or call an external data service.
