How to use YAML to JSON
Make YAML data available to a JSON consumer while checking its structure locally. The converter uses the YAML core schema and rejects ambiguous duplicate mappings and unsupported custom tags.
- Paste one YAML document using standard scalar and collection types.
- Select Run tool to parse YAML and serialize JSON.
- Review the result, then copy it or download the generated file.
Good to know
- Up to 100,000 characters, 10,000 values, and 40 nesting levels; aliases are expansion-limited, and shared/circular graphs are rejected.
- Comments and YAML formatting do not exist in JSON. Complex mapping keys and YAML-only semantics may not round-trip; use ordinary string keys.
Common questions
Can YAML tags execute code?
No custom execution tags are installed. Unsupported tag warnings cause the conversion to fail.
