How to use JSON to YAML
Create a YAML configuration draft from JSON without manually changing braces and quotes. Values are serialized by the YAML library; ambiguous string values are quoted where required.
- Paste the JSON data to represent as YAML.
- Select Run tool to serialize a standard YAML document.
- Review the result, then copy it or download the generated file.
Good to know
- Up to 100,000 input characters, 10,000 values, and 40 nesting levels. Standard JSON numbers use JavaScript precision; duplicate keys retain their last value.
- Original JSON whitespace is discarded. Application-specific YAML tags, comments, and schemas cannot be inferred.
Common questions
Will a string such as true become a boolean?
The serializer quotes strings when necessary to preserve their string type in the core schema.
