How to use Trigonometric Functions Calculator

Forward sine/cosine/tangent use the selected angle unit. Degree quadrants retain exact mathematical zeros/ones. Inverse functions require a real domain and return an angle in the chosen unit; no expression language is evaluated.

  1. Enter angle or function value.
  2. Choose the stated convention and check the units and supported model.
  3. Calculate, inspect the result, then copy or download it.

Good to know

  • Forward angles at most1million degrees/radians in magnitude. Tangent poles or numerically unresolved cosines reject; asin/acos inputs−1..1. Radian values and other outputs are floating approximations.
  • Runs locally. Text/JSON fields are capped at30,000 characters; stricter page-specific and numeric-string limits also apply. Numeric inputs are bounded to magnitude1e15 and nonzero magnitude at least1e-100 unless an exact-string mode states otherwise. Approximate summaries use12 significant digits; CSV numeric cells retain the complete stored value and potentially formula-like string cells gain a protective apostrophe; unsupported, non-finite or detected underflow states return an error.

Common questions

Why is tangent90degrees rejected instead of returning a huge number?

Cosine is zero there, so real tangent is undefined. Returning a large floating artifact would conceal that singularity.

Is the input uploaded or saved?

No. The tool calculates inside this browser tab and provides a local download; it does not persist your input.
