How to use Text Indenter
Shift a block of plain text consistently without reformatting its content. Removal only consumes the selected leading whitespace character.
- Paste a multiline text block.
- Choose add/remove, spaces/tabs, and indentation depth.
- Run and review the shifted block before using it as code.
Good to know
- Empty lines remain empty. Whitespace-only non-empty lines are processed.
- Removing spaces does not remove tabs, and removing tabs does not remove spaces. This is not syntax-aware code formatting.
- Line endings normalize to LF; output is bounded to 1,000,000 characters.
Common questions
Will removal delete a line’s text?
No. It removes up to the chosen number of matching leading whitespace characters and stops at other content.
Does spaces-per-level affect tab mode?
No. Each tab level adds or removes one literal tab.
