How to use Plain-text Annotation Selector Auditor

Review annotation anchors before reusing them on a text version. Position and quote selectors remain separate, all bounded quote matches are reported, and disagreement never becomes an automatic relocation or a guessed selection.

  1. Enter input, selector records json.
  2. Choose the settings for plain-text annotation selector auditor, then run the tool.
  3. Review the result and any limitations before copying or downloading it.

Good to know

  • 100,000 source characters, 500 records, 1,000 characters per exact/prefix/suffix string, 10,000,000 planned scan characters, 10,000 raw quote candidates and 2,000 complete matches. Raw position numerals must be exact integers.
  • Supply already-normalized plain text. This narrow selector profile does not load resources, process JSON-LD, strip HTML, expand entities, normalize Unicode, certify grapheme boundaries or recover an older document version.
  • Processing is local. Output is limited to 1,000,000 text characters unless a stricter file limit is stated.

Common questions

What happens when a quote appears more than once?

All complete exact/prefix/suffix matches are reported within the declared budget. Multiple matches are not silently reduced to one; a supplied position can be compared with them explicitly.

Is this input sent to a server?

No. The application processes this input inside your browser tab and does not save it to persistent storage.
