How to use Slug Generator
Prepare a readable path segment from a title. Choose ASCII for a restricted publishing system or retain Unicode letters for a multilingual URL.
- Enter a page title or label.
- Choose the character alphabet, separator, and maximum length.
- Generate the slug and check uniqueness in your publishing system.
Good to know
- A slug is one path segment, not a complete URL. The tool does not check availability or uniqueness.
- ASCII mode simplifies common Latin characters but does not transliterate Chinese, Arabic, or other scripts. Unicode mode preserves language marks.
- The length limit counts grapheme clusters, not encoded URL bytes.
Common questions
Does generating a slug publish a page?
No. It returns text only and makes no network request.
Why do some characters disappear in ASCII mode?
Characters that cannot be represented by the supported Latin simplification are treated as separators. Unicode mode retains letters from other scripts.
