Service Project Estimate Workbench

Build an authored service-project estimate from labor visits, minimum time blocks, resources, overhead and contingency, with one final price rounding and optional fee comparison.

✓ Browser-local processing
Use the complete example schema. Quantities are exact decimal strings with up to six places; do not replace them with JSON decimal numbers.

How to use Service Project Estimate Workbench

List the planned labor visits and resource quantities. Labor duration is rounded within each visit under your minimum/block convention; exact direct costs then receive authored overhead, contingency and either markup or target-margin pricing. The report retains the complete cost trail.

  1. Use the example as the schema; replace its labels and entered model assumptions.
  2. List the planned labor visits and resource quantities. Labor duration is rounded within each visit under your minimum/block convention; exact direct costs then receive authored overhead, contingency and either markup or target-margin pricing. The report retains the complete cost trail.
  3. Calculate, inspect the complete witnesses and limitations, then copy or download the JSON report.

Good to know

  • At most 60 labor and 60 resource rows, with at least one row overall. Duration/minimum are 0–100,000 minutes per visit; visits 1–1,000; block 1–1,440 minutes. Overhead/contingency/markup can be 0–1,000%; margin must be below 100%. Final upward rounding uses an integer 1–10,000-cent quantum. This contains no market rate, legal terms or tax model.
  • Local calculation with no upload, input persistence or outside lookup. Model JSON is limited to 30,000 characters and 10,000 values. Decimal quantities are strings with up to six places; count fields use plain JSON integers. Exact fractions are capped at 8,192 bits. The complete JSON output is limited to 1,000,000 characters; approximate numbers preserve their stored values. Unsupported states fail explicitly.

Common questions

Does the requested margin equal a markup of the same percent?

No. A markup multiplies cost by one plus the chosen fraction. A margin solves price as cost divided by one minus that fraction. Final upward price rounding can increase the achieved margin slightly; both exact and rounded prices remain visible.

Are my model inputs saved or sent to a server?

No. This model runs in the current browser tab and creates a local JSON download. It does not save your input or call an external data service.
