How to use Image Print Size Calculator
Connect image samples to a physical print size. Required pixels round upward using exact decimal ratios; effective-PPI mode reports each axis so an aspect mismatch is visible instead of silently stretching the image.
- Enter your own values or load the local synthetic example.
- Run the tool and review the complete result and stated assumptions.
- Copy the output or download the generated file.
Good to know
- No file is changed or resampled. Printer hardware DPI is different from image PPI; no print-quality threshold is guaranteed.
- Supports inches, centimeters and millimeters using exactly 25.4mm per inch. Pixel dimensions1–1000000; required output sides at most 10000000.
- Effective PPI can differ by axis if image and target aspect ratios differ. Choose your own crop or fit strategy.
Common questions
Does changing the print size add detail?
No. The calculation describes existing or required samples; it does not create image detail.
What if the horizontal and vertical PPI differ?
The image and target shape do not match. Stretching would have different axis scales; cropping or fitting needs a separate decision.
