How to use Image Difference Viewer

Compare equal-size image pixels and generate a difference heatmap. A changed pixel exceeds the selected maximum-channel threshold in RGBA. The result reports changed coverage and mean absolute channel error alongside a red intensity heatmap.

  1. Provide the input and select the documented mode or options.
  2. Run the tool and review its result and any limits reported below.
  3. Copy the text result or download a separate output file.

Good to know

  • PNG, JPEG or WebP only;10MiB per image,24 megapixels and12,000 pixels per side. The browser applies supported EXIF orientation.
  • Raster export does not preserve animation, original color profiles or embedded metadata. Keep your original file.
  • Inputs must decode to identical dimensions and no more than8MP. Compression and color-profile differences can change pixels; this is not a forgery or semantic-similarity detector.
  • Processing happens in this browser tab. Inputs and results are not automatically saved or uploaded.

Common questions

What does Image Difference Viewer process?

A changed pixel exceeds the selected maximum-channel threshold in RGBA. The result reports changed coverage and mean absolute channel error alongside a red intensity heatmap.

What happens to my original input?
