How to use HTTP Link Header Workbench
Inspect Link targets, relation types, anchors and UTF-8 titles using a supplied response URI. Resolve targets and anchor contexts independently against the original response URI, preserve quoted commas and repeated language hints, and apply the first occurrence rules for core attributes.
- Provide response uri, link field value.
- Choose the supported mode and run the tool. Review its assumptions and any reported errors.
- Copy the result or download a separate output; reset to clear the current form.
Good to know
- 20 KB of printable ASCII field text, 100 link members and 100 parameters per member. This strict profile refuses malformed members instead of emulating browser error recovery.
- Target and context URIs must resolve to HTTP(S), without user information or IPvFuture hosts. A supplied base fragment is refused. Other URI schemes and anonymous link contexts are outside this profile.
- UTF-8 title* is decoded and preferred over title. Invalid extended titles are reported and leave a plain-title fallback available. Language tags receive syntax checks only; no IANA registry is embedded. Other extension attributes remain uninterpreted.
- Relations are case-normalized for comparison; registry membership and target media types are not verified. An anchor changes the context, never the target resolution base. No request or preload is initiated.
- Inputs are processed on this device and are not automatically saved or uploaded.
Common questions
Does anchor change where a relative target resolves?
No. Both the target and anchor resolve against the supplied response URI. The resolved anchor becomes the link context; it does not become a new base for the target.
Does this change my original input?
No. The tool returns a separate result. Review that output before using it in another application.
