How to use HTML Formatter and Minifier

Format static HTML or remove ordinary comments while preserving all other source characters. Format uses the standalone HTML parser with strict whitespace sensitivity. Minify is deliberately limited to source-located ordinary comment removal; it preserves whitespace, scripts, styles, attributes and protected framework/license comments.

  1. Provide static html source, indent spaces.
  2. Choose the supported mode and run the tool. Review its assumptions and any reported errors.
  3. Copy the result or download a separate output; reset to clear the current form.

Good to know

  • 50,000 source characters;10 seconds to load the worker/libraries, then2 seconds to compute. The worker is terminated on success, failure or timeout.
  • Output is untrusted source text: it is never executed or inserted into this page. No linked resources or source maps are fetched.
  • Static HTML document or ordinary fragment only. Templates, malformed/bogus comments and parser errors are rejected. Minify does not compress embedded CSS/JS, strip whitespace, sanitize active code or promise a smaller output for comment-free input.
  • Format checks that pre, textarea and raw-text values retain their parsed content. HTML plaintext elements are refused in Format because closing markup would become literal content; conservative Minify retains them. Any transformation that cannot preserve the protected content is refused.
  • Inputs are processed on this device and are not automatically saved or uploaded.

Common questions

Why does Minify sometimes leave the size unchanged?

It only deletes ordinary HTML comments. License, conditional and recognized framework marker comments remain, and text spacing/raw content stays exactly as supplied. This avoids guessing which whitespace affects rendering.

Does this change my original input?

No. The tool returns a separate result. Review that output before using it in another application.
