How to use Data URL Workbench
Encode local file bytes as a data URL or decode a pasted data URL into a file. Binary input is encoded as Base64 with a validated MIME label. Decoding supports Base64 or percent-encoded bytes and never renders or opens the embedded content.
- Provide the input and select the documented mode or options.
- Run the tool and review its result and any limits reported below.
- Copy the text result or download a separate output file.
Good to know
- File encoding:512KiB. Pasted data URL:200,000 characters. Encoded output is data text and can expose all file contents when shared.
- MIME labels do not prove file type. Decoded content is always an inert application/octet-stream download named decoded-data.bin.
- Processing happens in this browser tab. Inputs and results are not automatically saved or uploaded.
