How to use CSV to SQL Inserts
Prepare a reviewable import script from tabular data. Column identifiers and text literals are escaped for the selected dialect; values remain text and the tool never contacts a database.
- Paste a header-based CSV, enter the target table, and select a database dialect.
- Select Run tool to generate a text-valued INSERT script.
- Review the result, then copy it or download the generated file.
Good to know
- Up to 200,000 characters, 5,001 records, 200 columns, and 50,000 characters per cell. Quotes must follow CSV rules; output CSV uses formula-safe apostrophe prefixes where needed.
- At most 2,000 data rows. The target table must already exist with compatible columns; generated text is not executed or validated against a database. NUL characters are rejected.
Common questions
Will numbers or dates be inferred?
No. Every cell is emitted as a quoted text literal; review schema conversions before importing.
