How to use CSV to SQLite Database Builder

Convert a small local CSV into a genuine SQLite3 database file with exact TEXT cells and an explicit one-table schema. Move a bounded table into a queryable database without installing an import server or changing source values through automatic type inference. The browser writes the documented file format as bytes; it does not execute SQL, open an existing database or contact a database service.

  1. Provide optional utf-8 delimited source, csv with a header record.
  2. Choose the supported mode and run the tool. Review its assumptions and any reported errors.
  3. Copy the result or download a separate output; reset to clear the current form.

Good to know

  • One strict UTF-8 input up to 200,000 bytes; a file takes precedence over pasted source. One initial BOM is removed. Choose comma, semicolon or tab explicitly. Quoted delimiters, doubled quotes and embedded CR/LF are decoded; inconsistent field counts and malformed quotes refuse.
  • Require 1–20 nonblank headers, each at most 64 UTF-8 bytes, unique under SQLite ASCII letter case folding. Header controls and rowid/_rowid_/oid aliases are refused. Names remain quoted exact identifiers, not inferred or silently renamed. The fixed output table is imported_rows.
  • Allow 0–1,000 data records. Every cell is TEXT, including empty values, formula-looking text, large integers, leading zeros and decimal/exponent spellings. No NULL/type conversion or spreadsheet apostrophe is applied. SQLite is not a spreadsheet formula evaluator.
  • The standalone file uses 4,096-byte pages, UTF-8, schema format 4 and one rowid table with at most two b-tree levels. Source order supplies rowids 1–N. Generated schema and each record payload must fit the selected 3,800-byte no-overflow profile; oversized rows refuse. No indexes, triggers, views, attachments, user SQL, overflow pages, WAL, encryption or existing database edits are supported.
  • All leaves, cell pointers and root separators are planned before allocating the final file, at most 256 pages or 1 MiB. The same-origin module prepares within 10 seconds, then serialization has a separate 2-second Worker computation deadline. The custom header writer-library-version is 0, not a claim that a particular SQLite release created the file.
  • Download actual imported-data.sqlite as binary bytes, with a JSON report of headers, row count, pages and quoted CREATE TABLE source. The local download uses octet-stream to preserve its extension. Opening/querying in your target SQLite application and its compatibility remain independent integration checks. Originals are never uploaded, modified or overwritten.
  • Structured text output is limited to 500,000 characters. Reduce the supplied source when that separate output budget is exceeded.
  • Inputs are processed on this device and are not automatically saved or uploaded.

Common questions

Will identifiers or numbers be automatically converted?

No. The selected writer keeps every data cell as TEXT, so identifiers such as 000123 and decimals such as 1e-400 keep their exact source spelling. Import into typed columns later only after reviewing the intended conversion in your database application.

Does this change my original input?

No. The tool returns a separate result. Review that output before using it in another application.
