How to use Copy Claim Substantiation Register

An advertising or product claim can retain an old citation after the underlying offer changes. Keep source identity, review day and expiry policy attached to each actual claim before publication.

  1. Record the exact proposed claims with stable evidence IDs.
  2. Declare the public source, actual review date and an explicit expiry policy for each evidence record.
  3. Resolve stale/missing records, inspect originals and approve claim meaning and publication separately.

Good to know

  • A valid URL and unexpired operator declaration do not prove authenticity, truth, entailment or advertising/legal compliance. This is a lifecycle register, not a fact-check verdict.
  • Future review dates, missing review/expiry and expired evidence remain HOLD items. Expiry is valid through the declared date; invalid calendar dates are refused.
  • Inputs are limited to 8,000 characters per field and 100 CSV data rows with exact displayed headers. Quoted commas, doubled quotes and quoted line endings are supported. Empty/duplicate identities and unsupported numeric values are refused; per-tool output bounds also apply.
  • CSV text that resembles a spreadsheet formula is apostrophe-prefixed. This reduces formula execution risk without certifying every spreadsheet/import configuration.
  • Deterministic browser-local work only. No AI model, upload, account connection, outreach, payment, saved input or automatic publication. Exports keep user-entered facts unverified; inspect edited drafts before sharing.

Common questions

How does this differ from the Citation Evidence Audit Workbench?

That tool checks literal excerpt coverage in pasted source text. This register joins claims to a source-review lifecycle and flags stale, future or missing review records.

Will the tool open the source or approve the claim?

No. It syntax-checks a bounded public URL and evaluates your declared dates. Human factual/contextual and publication approval remain necessary.
