How to use Citation Evidence Audit Workbench

A citation URL alone is not evidence that a sentence is supported. Keep the claim, exact excerpt and supplied source text inspectable, while leaving truth and interpretation to a qualified reviewer.

  1. Enter distinct claims, their source URLs and the exact proposed evidence excerpts.
  2. Paste the actual corresponding source text; quote CSV fields that contain commas or line breaks.
  3. Review missing/ambiguous evidence and verify original sources and claim meaning manually.

Good to know

  • A located excerpt is not verified truth, authentic source provenance, entailment, freshness or sufficient evidence. No page is opened and no AI fact checking occurs.
  • Duplicate source URLs are ambiguous rather than silently merged. URL fragments are removed; missing or unsupported URLs remain explicit evidence gaps.
  • Use the exact displayed CSV header. Quoted commas, doubled quotes and quoted line endings are supported; malformed quoting or uneven rows are refused. CSV exports prefix text cells resembling spreadsheet formulas with an apostrophe.
  • Local deterministic processing: no AI model calls, uploads, account connections, messages or saved input. Review any downloaded artifact before sharing.

Common questions

Can a false claim receive QUOTE LOCATED?

Yes. A literal excerpt can appear in source text while the associated claim misinterprets it. The result deliberately preserves human truth and context review.

Can I leave source text blank?

A header-only source inventory is accepted, but those claims remain on HOLD rather than receiving fabricated coverage.
