How to use Base-N Encoding Workbench
Use one workbench for several standard byte alphabets. Base64url differs from ordinary Base64; these encodings preserve bytes but provide no secrecy.
- Enter input.
- Choose the settings for base-n encoding workbench, then run the tool.
- Review the result and any limitations before copying or downloading it.
Good to know
- Base32 accepts uppercase RFC4648 spelling, padded or canonical unpadded. Base64url output omits padding. Text decoding preserves a leading U+FEFF as text.
- Invalid alphabets, partial bytes and nonzero trailing pad bits are rejected. Hex-byte output supports non-text data.
- Processing is local. Output is limited to 1,000,000 text characters unless a stricter file limit is stated.
Common questions
Is Base64url encryption?
No. Anyone can decode it; its alphabet is designed for URL-compatible representation.
Is this input sent to a server?
No. The application processes this input inside your browser tab and does not save it to persistent storage.
