How to use AI API Unit Economics

Model a free and paid usage policy before promising an allowance. Enter current input and output token prices from your provider; the tool deliberately does not assume a live model price.

Check your provider’s official pricing for the exact model, modality and billing unit.
Replace every illustrative rate, enter the source URL and date, then enter measured token and usage assumptions.
Include the free-user subsidy and other overhead; compare the break-even count with a realistic paid-user test.

Good to know

Estimates use floating-point arithmetic, rounded for display. Inputs must be finite nonnegative decimals at most 1 billion (whole counts at most 1 million); nonzero inputs below 0.000000001 and results outside the supported range are rejected.
Only uncached text input and output token pricing is modeled. Rates are manual inputs, never a claim that a model currently costs the example amounts.
