How to use Unix Timestamp Converter
Translate between Unix time and a readable UTC date. Choose the timestamp unit explicitly to avoid confusing seconds with milliseconds.
- Choose the conversion direction.
- Enter a numeric timestamp or an ISO date such as 2025-01-01T00:00:00Z.
- Read the UTC date, Unix seconds, and Unix milliseconds.
Good to know
- Dates require an explicit Z or ±HH:MM timezone. Local timezone guessing is avoided.
- Supports years 0001 through 9999 and millisecond precision; leap seconds are not supported.
- The unit selector applies to timestamp input only. Fractional seconds allow at most three decimal places.
Common questions
Why is the date shown in UTC?
UTC gives the same result in every country and avoids ambiguous local daylight-saving times.
Are timestamps before 1970 supported?
Yes. Negative timestamps represent dates before the Unix epoch.
