How to use Spreadsheet Fixture Comparator

A generated spreadsheet needs reproducible checks. Compare a known fixture with an actual exported result before trusting a formula or automation.

  1. Export a permitted known fixture and actual result with one exact shared schema.
  2. Select the unique row key, numeric columns and explicit absolute tolerance.
  3. Resolve missing, extra and changed cells before accepting the spreadsheet workflow.

Good to know

  • At most100 rows per file. Only declared numeric columns use nonnegative ordinary decimals; negative numbers and locale/grouped forms are flagged as unsupported. No formulas are evaluated and no workbook is opened.
  • Fields are limited to8,000 characters; CSV has at most100 data rows and exact displayed headers. Quoted commas, newlines and doubled quotes are supported. Labels use1–200 characters. Ordinary nonnegative decimals have at most9 fractional places, magnitude999,999,999; whole counts and percentages have stricter displayed limits. No exponent notation. Results outside0.000000000001–1 quadrillion are refused, except zero.
  • Independent deterministic ToolJovia workflow. Inputs stay in this browser; no model call, vendor request, saved input, external workflow execution or message sending occurs. Outputs contain your entered records; review them before sharing. A modeled result is not proof of customers, revenue, regulatory compliance or vendor billing.

Research behind this workbench

These cases explain the business mechanism. The workbench is ToolJovia's independent adaptation, not a claim about the company's internal workflow or an endorsement.

Common questions

Is an empty numeric cell equivalent to zero?

No. Blank versus populated is a difference, even when the populated value is zero.

Can this verify spreadsheet formulas?

It compares their exported values against an expected fixture. It does not execute formulas or prove every untested input is correct.
