How to use Solid Color Background Remover

Remove a known, nearly uniform background color using an explicit numerical rule. Edge-connected mode follows four-neighbor pixels from the image boundary and preserves enclosed matching islands. This is color keying, with no object or portrait recognition.

  1. Load the synthetic example or enter your own bounded input.
  2. Run locally and inspect the result before downloading.
  3. Copy the text report or download the generated artifact.

Good to know

  • At most 8 MiB, 4 megapixels and 4096 pixels per side. Static PNG, baseline JPEG and simple VP8/VP8L WebP only; animation, progressive JPEG and extended WebP are refused. Structural preflight bounds allocation; the browser still decodes compressed pixels. Some PNG metadata profiles are refused. No file upload.
  • No automatic segmentation, spill correction or color-profile matching. Shadows and foreground pixels of the selected color may be removed. RGB distance is a simple numerical metric.
  • All-mode touches matching pixels everywhere. Edge mode uses four-neighbor connectivity. PNG preserves remaining alpha, but browser decoding/re-encoding may change colors or metadata. Worker startup is bounded to 10 seconds and compute to 3 seconds.

Common questions

Will this recognize a person or product?

No. Choose a known solid background color. Objects with the same color are not recognized or protected.

Why can an enclosed matching patch remain?

Edge mode reaches only matching pixels connected to the image boundary by up, down, left or right neighbors. Select all-mode to remove enclosed patches too.
