Screenshot Redaction Coverage Check

Calculate the union coverage of entered screenshot mask rectangles against human-identified sensitive regions without detecting or changing image content.

✓ Browser-local processing
Ordinary decimal 0–100. A lower target never means complete redaction.
Top-left origin, nonnegative integer pixels, positive width/height; maximum image dimension 1,000,000. Header-only means no masks.

How to use Screenshot Redaction Coverage Check

Two overlapping masks can appear to cover enough area while leaving part of a sensitive region exposed. Check the geometry of manually identified boxes before inspecting an actual irreversible redaction.

  1. Manually identify all sensitive areas in the current screenshot and record version-specific pixel rectangles.
  2. Enter actual mask rectangles and compare their union with each sensitive region; inspect wrong versions or out-of-bounds records.
  3. Apply and inspect opaque irreversible redaction separately, including hidden layers, metadata and anything not represented by the entered boxes.

Good to know

  • This tool does not open an image, detect PII, edit pixels, inspect opacity or certify a safe file. Coverage uses the union of intersections so overlapping masks are not counted twice.
  • Wrong-version or out-of-bounds sensitive regions remain unknown. Invalid mask declarations hold the overall result; a target below 100% does not establish full redaction.
  • Each input field is limited to 8,000 UTF-16 characters. CSV needs the exact displayed header and at most 100 data rows. Quoted commas, doubled quotes and quoted newlines are supported. Duplicate identities are refused unless the tool explicitly reports them as findings.
  • Markdown and CSV are editable review artifacts, not certificates. Spreadsheet-like text is apostrophe-prefixed in CSV to reduce formula execution risk; check the actual importer before sharing. Decimal ratios are rounded to at most 12 places.
  • Runs only on the records you enter, locally in your browser. No AI call, provider connection, account inspection, upload, automatic outreach or saved input. Use neutral identifiers rather than personal or secret content.

Common questions

Does 100% geometry guarantee a safe screenshot?

No. Entered boxes may miss sensitive content, and masks may be transparent, reversible or absent from the actual exported image. Inspect the actual file and metadata.

Why do overlapping masks not simply add?

The overlap covers the same pixels twice. The union algorithm counts each covered pixel area once, preserving the actual uncovered area.
