How to use Individuals Process Control Workbench
The baseline estimates sigma as average adjacent moving range divided by 1.128. Alternatively, you can supply a target center and sigma. Both modes retain fixed center ± three sigma limits for all rows; equality with a limit does not signal a crossing.
- Enter ordered measurement json, baseline prefix count, supplied target center, supplied sigma.
- Choose the stated convention and check the units and supported model.
- Calculate, inspect the result, then copy or download it.
Good to know
- Exact-grid inputs are plain decimals with at most six places and magnitude≤1e9. Raw JSON number spelling is checked before conversion; decimal strings can preserve exact grid values. Exact rational intermediates are bounded to 8192 bits. 3–1000 ordered observations and an explicit baseline prefix of at least 3. Only the single-point beyond-limit rule is applied; no trend/run rules, MR-chart verdict, autocorrelation test, normality proof or process-stability certification. Zero estimated variation is refused. The empirical d2 constant is treated as the stated exact decimal 1.128.
- Local calculation only; no input persistence or external lookup. Text/JSON is limited to 30000 characters and output to 1000000 characters. Numeric model inputs and precision/work limits are stated on this page. Approximate JSON numbers retain full stored values; exact arithmetic outputs retain decimal or fraction strings. Unsupported states fail explicitly.
Common questions
Does no signal prove the process is stable?
No. This page applies one specific limit rule to a declared baseline. Sampling design, dependence, other signal rules and whether the baseline itself is suitable require separate investigation.
Is the input uploaded or saved?
No. The tool calculates inside this browser tab and provides a local download; it does not persist your input.
