Physical Stocktake Count Workbench

Compare primary or recount physical observations with book stock, converting package counts to base units and retaining missing counts and signed cost differences.

✓ Browser-local processing
Use the complete example schema. Quantities are exact decimal strings with up to six places; do not replace them with JSON decimal numbers.

How to use Physical Stocktake Count Workbench

Give each item/location a unique ID, authored package factors, book quantity and unit cost. Enter primary and recount observations independently, then select which count is evidence for the discrepancy report. Null remains uncounted; the other observation is never silently substituted.

  1. Use the example as the schema; replace its labels and entered model assumptions.
  2. Give each item/location a unique ID, authored package factors, book quantity and unit cost. Enter primary and recount observations independently, then select which count is evidence for the discrepancy report. Null remains uncounted; the other observation is never silently substituted.
  3. Calculate, inspect the complete witnesses and limitations, then copy or download the JSON report.

Good to know

  • Up to 30 item/location rows, eight package definitions and eight package observations in each count. Loose/book quantities have magnitude at most 1,000,000,000; package factors/counts at most 1,000,000. Cost is authored in one currency. No stock or accounts are updated.
  • Local calculation with no upload, input persistence or outside lookup. Model JSON is limited to 30,000 characters and 10,000 values. Decimal quantities are strings with up to six places; count fields use plain JSON integers. Exact fractions are capped at 8,192 bits. The complete JSON output is limited to 1,000,000 characters; approximate numbers preserve their stored values. Unsupported states fail explicitly.

Common questions

Is an uncounted row treated as zero stock?

No. A null chosen observation stays uncounted and contributes no invented variance. An explicit count with no packages and zero loose units is a real zero observation and is compared with book stock.

Are my model inputs saved or sent to a server?

No. This model runs in the current browser tab and creates a local JSON download. It does not save your input or call an external data service.
